About

Australian copywriter who cares a bit too much

HEY, I'M ELLIE.

I've loved words since I was a kid: learning new ones, reading those already strung into sentences, and getting lost in the stories they create.

So, I became a writer.

Now, I type the words conscious organisations, like you, need.

Of course, there's a whole lot more than that...

Values in BOLD

As much as I'd like to take credit for the values that led me to start Writing the Future, it's really my parents I need to thank. My childhood was spent on a hobby farm in remote Victoria, surrounded by mountains, forests and lots of animals. Here, my botanist and ecologist parents taught my siblings and me to appreciate the natural world, and always think about how we impact it.

Since then, I've tried to be considerate in every aspect of my life, from what I consume to (and this is where Writing the Future comes in) where I work. Now, I write for the people and organisations trying to do good in the world. In my free time, I travel to see more of that world, and volunteer on the ground to create the physical change that words may lead to but can never create themselves.

But, I swear, those values don't make me a boring old fart to be around (I hope).

Some more interesting tidbits about me:

  • Sarcasm is my love language.

  • I'll sing along to every song, even if I don't know the lyrics.

  • I'm interested in virtually everything, so got a passion you want to go on a tangent about? Go off, I'm here for it.

  • 'Relaxation' and 'travel' are not words I put together often. I'll be filling my days to the brim.

  • Oh, and I'll never say no to a good (vegan) noodle soup.

Who I work with

If you're trying to leave the world better than you found it, then you're probably someone I want to work with:

  • Not-for-profits fighting for human rights, the environment or mental health;

  • Sustainable builders, architects and designers;

  • Ethical brands that make conscious living accessible;

  • Eco-friendly tourism, accommodation and travel agencies;

  • The manufacturers and suppliers making all the above possible;

And many, many more. Don't see yourself on the list but still keen to work together? You know what to do...
